Michael Nelson
Michael serves as the Director of Government Affairs and Community Engagement at Phoenix Children’s. In this role, he oversees relationships and advocacy efforts at the local, state, and federal levels of government, as well as managing community partnerships with local and national stakeholder groups.
Prior to Phoenix Children’s, Michael managed community relations for the state’s largest utility. He also spent nearly a decade on Capitol Hill, serving in both the U.S. House and U.S. Senate, in such roles as policy advisor and regional director.
Michael received his undergraduate degree and master or arts from Arizona State University, and is currently pursuing a master of science through the University of Southern California.
